Believe it or not, a lot of people think they’re being evicted when they’re really not. For example, if your rent is a day late and you a notice on your door called a 3-day notice that’s just a scary sounding warning, and it doesn’t mean you have to be out in 3-days. Any kind of “notice” is just a threat. An ACTUAL eviction is when the landlord files a an unlawful detainer lawsuit against you and you receive a document called a summons and complaint.
